How Faded Eden works

Everything you need to get going — accounts, projects, the Studio, Build My Band, Extract Stems, the marketplace and billing.

New here?

Take a short guided tour of Faded Eden — profile, Discover, the Studio, and everything in between.

Already a member?

A longer, hands-on member tour: Messages, the Create menu, project rooms, the Studio, selling gear and more. It never posts, sends or creates anything.

Creating an account

Go to Sign in and choose Create account. You can sign up with an email and password, or continue with Google.

The first time you sign in you'll do a quick onboarding — display name, username, what you play and where you are. You can change any of this later from your profile.

Finding musicians

Open Discover and search by name, instrument, genre or city, or filter for people open to remote collaboration.

From a profile you can Message a musician or invite them straight into a project.

Creating and joining projects

A project is your shared workspace. From the Create menu choose Create Project, or browse open calls on Collaborate and request to join.

Inside a project you get a room with tracks, files, notes, tasks and chat. Invite members from the project, or set a project to public to share it on Explore.

Uploading project files

In a project room, open the Files or Tracks area and select a file from your device. Project files are visible only to that project's members.

Per-file size limits depend on your plan (see below). Supported audio uploads can be added as Studio tracks for playback and mixing.

File-size limits by plan

Per-file upload limits are set by your plan:

  • Free: 25 MB per file
  • Pro: 250 MB per file
  • Creator: 500 MB per file

The project-files storage bucket supports files up to 500 MB. You can upgrade any time from Plans & pricing.

Using Faded Eden Studio

Open the Studio to play back and mix a project's tracks. Adjust volume, mute and solo, reorder tracks, and shape sound with the parametric EQ — all in your browser.

Studio playback and processing run on your device, so your audio stays under your control.

Build My Band & the Song Generator

Describe a style and a mood in the Studio and Faded Eden sketches a starting point — generated parts for a band, a chord bed and a groove you can build on.

Generated parts open as Studio tracks, so you can mute, edit and replace them like any other take. Treat them as a starting sketch, not a finished master.

Extract Stems

In the Studio, choose Extract Stems on a track to split it into parts (for example vocals, drums, bass, other). Solo or mute a stem to isolate the part you're learning or replacing.

Stem separation runs in your browser. Results vary with the source material.

Marketplace & selling used gear

From the Create menu choose Sell Gear, then add the item's details, condition and your own photos. Active listings show up in the marketplace.

Buyers contact you through a listing to arrange a sale. Faded Eden is a place to connect, not a payment or escrow service for gear — handle money, shipping and pickup directly with the other person, and meet safely.

See our guide to selling used gear for pricing, photos and safety tips.

Plans and billing

Faded Eden has a free plan and paid plans (Pro and Creator). Compare them on Plans & pricing. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see your full card details.

You can upgrade or cancel at any time. Cancelling stops future renewals — your paid features stay active until the end of the period you've already paid for. Manage your subscription from the billing settings.

Password reset & sign-in help
